This is a Hamamatsu C2830 type 01 high speed streak tube camera system consisting of one C2830 temporal disperser (S/N 88120053), one M2547 high speed streak unit, A1976 type 0 (S/N 140112) input optics, and power connection cable for connecting to a triple-output DC power supply. The included M2493 photodiode array is rather outdated, but is easily removed to allow use with another digital streak recording camera, such as the one used to produce the slit-image photos included with this description. This camera has been tested, but as can be seen from the example photos in focus mode at low gain of two slit widths with uniform illumination, the photocathode of the streak tube is damaged. This is probably the result of undue light exposure, and the effects have not been quantified. However, the photos show that the photocathode has two strips that are relatively clear, and that the overall damage is of lower intensity than the slit image, so dark-frame image subtraction techniques may remedy some of the issue. In any case, we will give you appropriate time to inspect this instrument to determine suitability for your application. Also included is a user's manual with full specifications.
