The Hamamatsu C-1308 Picosecond Light Pulser uses a laser diode to generate a light pulse centered around 820 nm with a spectral bandwidth of approximately 3 nm and a pulse width duration less than 100 ps FWHM (typical). It will output a single pulse or a pulse train with a repetition rate variable from 0.1 Hz to 10 kHz controllable at the front panel.
The Picosecond Light Pulser is a convenient economical instrument for testing impulse response of fiber optics, fast photodetectors, or wherever an ultra short gated light source is needed. The output may also be used as an optical excitation source for nanosecond and subnanosecond relaxation kinetics measurements.
